As a long time painter of all media, particularly watercolor, I’ve admired abstracts from a distance as I’d no clue how to do them. Some random marks would furnish the impetus to get a composition going then I’d usually add an element of realism such as a bird or flower. When I stumbled upon Yvette’s online courses they were reasonably priced and offered me a chance to explore compositional new ways to create art. Fresh, fun, and fantastic images are done by Yvette first, then excitement builds from me and from other students. Never too old to learn new tricks said the dog. The magic is when a new personal piece emerges from our own hands and decorates our lives and walls!

Taking Yvette’s classes has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my art journey. I loved this course so much that I didn't want it to finish ! So I bought two more, Advanced and Intermediate, and I'm sure I'll love them as much as I did with the Beginner Abstract. Ivette has a simple way to show and explain what she is doing along her paintings. She has the GIFT and the experience of getting things done. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Such a brilliant course. I am so thankful to you for creating this. I have had a wonderful time with this. You have taken me to places, ideas, that I would never considered going. Now I look forward to painting some beautiful pictures and also using my Adobe Lightroom and Photo Shop to see what I can create from there. Then it is onto the next course from you. I think at the time I got it there was no Intermediate Course so it’s the Advanced Course. As I do paint regularly I’m sure I will be surprised and inspired by that one as well. This was a wonderful class to help inspire a beginner. Yet, I have been an artist for years and wanted to create abstract backgrounds for my realistic art. What a mind blowing course..... I'm so Very thankful to have found you by chance this weekend, whilst looking through Domestica courses, thus landing on yours was a breath of fresh air! Was wondering do you have any course material on how to use adobe Illustrator or photo shop instruction to create surface design patterns. I would also like to know more about licensing. I guess my other question would be, is it necessary to be computer savvy to carve a career from this knowledge ?

This class was perfect for me as I have been searching for lessons focused on technique. You also talk about inspiration, experimenting and having fun but some other tutorials put way too much emphasis on that aspect and offered too little on solid techniques, detailed demos and explanations. It’s been really fun and motivating for me to have specific skills and techniques to try. Building skill has given me the confidence to play and try things out. Having parameters and direction has actually freed me to be more creative and adventurous in my art. You are a wonderful teacher. Thank you!
